Well... what a long week...
Hey... so, last weekend was pretty great! I drank like a dehydrated fish!! I went home on Saturday. The trip is always longer when you make it alone... but I suppose most things seem longer alone. I got home and spent some time with my sister, who have I mentioned is the Cutest thing ever!!?!! Just love her! I hung out with my dad, watched him tinker with his baby... is Harley. He is such a great guy. He used to ride when I was very young, but my mother insisted that he stop when I was a baby, I think she was afraid that he'd get a little too wild and she'd end up raising me alone. He'd wanted a Harley for sooo long and he finally got one a year ago, or so. He's got all kinds of different seats, saddle bags, and gadgets for it. It's his most prized possession for sure!
My mom got home from work at about three in the afternoon or so and we hung out for a bit. She works at REI as a sales rep. It's the perfect job for her because she gets to chat with people and shop all day. She's a really cute lady.
In the evening I met up with my best friend in the whole wide world... Crystal! We always look so cute when we go out! We went to one of our usual spots, which is a bar and a pizzeria. It was only built a year or so ago, but in the small town of Sumner has quickly become a popular spot for those who have stuck around. It's got pool tables, a fireplace and they serve all kinds of drinks and finger food.
Crystal likes going to these places because it's never that hard to make conversation. Sumner, as I said, is a very small town and it's hard to go anywhere without seeing someone you had a class with or played a sport with... just a cute, but very small town. Crystal doesn't have to try too hard to get attention, but she doesn't really like to have to try at all. If we go out with a bunch of people we already know, there are already guys there that want to sleep with her and the fact has been known, so there is less confusion. She likes to draw attention to her boobs. She usually wears either a low-cut top or one with something witty with an undertone of naughty to it. I think it's hilarious, especially when they make reference to her shirt with the humorous statement on it and she looks straight at a guy and says, "What, are you saying that you're starring at my boobs?" some of the cuter ones will always say yes and she usually replies, "oh, ok, just checking." She deserves all of the attention that she gets.
We hung out there for a bit and made out way to a bar that I once got kicked out of before I was 21. It's called the Harvester, which pretty much says everything right there. It's in a town about six miles away from Sumner and of course was one of our rivals in high school. We walked into a freakin' western movie! We ended up having a pretty good time thought. I ran into an old friend. We'd been best friends when we were in Jr high, and remained friends for quite a long time after. After high school she pretty much disappeared then I heard through the grape-vine that she had gotten pregnant. I tracked her down and we hung out a bit before the baby was born. I went to her baby shower, took her out to lunch and made her promise to call me the second that she went into labor. She never did... not just didn't call when she had contractions, but she didn't call when she had the baby, she didn't call- ever. I called several times and even talked to her once. I wanted, of course to see the baby, but still never have.
I saw her and immediately knew it was her. Crystal couldn't believe it was her. The poor girl still looked slightly pregnant. I have been very upset about our abandoned relationship for quite some time, but had kind of put in the back of my mind. When she stepped outside for a smoke Crystal and I did too, just to see if she'd say anything to us. Without warning Crystal went right up to her and said, "So, what? You weren't even going to say hi???" and trust me not in a "I'm so excited to see you tone"... I was taken back, so I'm sure that she was as well, then she saw me and immediately put on the sweet innocent voice, "Oh, my god! I can't believe it's you! I've missed you! Why haven't you called me?"
I really didn't get much time to respond to any of the questions... Crystal pretty much did all of the talking for me. She's really great about sticking up for her friends. Luckily Kristina, the old friend, was drunk enough to miss most of it and eventually lost interest.
Sunday morning came extremely early for me. I had to get up to meet my boyfriend in Seattle for the game. We couldn't afford to actually go to the game, although we tried anyway, but we went downtown to go to one of the local bars to watch the game. We walked down to Qwest field and oh my gosh... I have never, ever seen so many people in Seattle! Everyone was decked out in Seahawks, yelling and just pumped for the game! We went to every single sports store, just to see what was there, and about six or seven bars, finally ending up at one called the Wild Palm... I believe. When we got there there were a few people, then it cleared out, apparently most of them were actually going to the game, then as the game got started it filled up quite a bit. I have never been in an atmosphere quite like that one. People were yelling and clapping. When the game was over and we were of course victorious the entire city erupted in noise! Cars for miles honked their horns, people were screaming and jumping up and down, complete strangers were hugging and high-fiving! It was amazing! I drank about $50 worth of beer by the time the game was over and was just so glad to finally see the Seahawks getting the respect they deserve from the nation and from it's own city! I'm, needless to say, really looking forward to the super bowl!
Thank God we've got a week off in-between the last game and the super bowl!
