What rule is there that winners of Academy Awards must then go on to stupid movies? How Halle Berry can go from Monster’s Ball to Catwoman, and even X-Men, is beyond me. Now Jamie Foxx is coming out with Stealth, some combo of Top Gun and Independence Day. Who are these people listening to?

And while we’re on this, why the fuck are Susan Sarandon and Julianne Moore peddling foundation from Revlon? Oh, AND Halle Berry! Can they truly need the money? I’ve heard they make more money from one day of commercial shooting than a month on a movie set, so maybe this factors in. I’m just talking here, but doesn’t it seem stupid? It’s as if Jackson Pollack opened at the Guggenheim and the next week picked up a project designing Hallmark greeting cards. It seems like it’s debasing the actors to suddenly make crap.

Not every movie will be good. If anything is more a testament to this it’s the movies coming out this summer. Most every movie is a remake/continuation. Bewitched, Bad News Bears, Dukes of Hazzard, Batman Begins, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, XXX, Herbie, …know what song my boyfriend David Bowie sings? “Always Crashing in the Same Car.” We seem to have reached an age where recycling is being taken too seriously.

Faced with all of this I guess I peddle mascara, too.
